Jacksboro Highway
Jacksboro Highway gradually evolved in the early ‘noughties’ from sessions at an acoustic night in Northamptonshire. The original trio formed when Martyn Fitzhugh (lead guitar) joined Steve Smith (vocal & rhythm guitar) and Dave Butler (bass guitar) who were already gigging as a duo. Brought together by a shared love of blues and blues influenced music, this line-up of seasoned veterans proved to be very popular and made two albums - Light'n the Load in 2005, and Diversions in 2006. Early in 2010, roots musician and promoter, Kev Buxton, started busking with them and was duly recruited on harp and vocal.
